Superstar artist and DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee has dropped his variant cover for the upcoming Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1, featuring Batman's rogues' gallery as well as, of course, the Joker himself.Shared on Jim Lee's official Twitter page, the black-and-white variant cover features some of Batman's most popular enemies in their costumes from the '70s. Villains featured in the variant include Two-Face, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Man-Bat and the Joker, standing at the head of the crowd. "My Joker 80th anniversary celebration cover featuring my favorite era of Batman villains from the 1970s!" Lee wrote. Created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson, the Joker made his first comic book appearance in 1940's Batman #1. The character has since appeared in a multitude of Batman-related films, comics and video games.

Several other variant covers will be released for the Joker 80th Anniversary comic, each themed after a different decade in the villain's history. Other artists releasing variant covers for the comic include Arthur Adams, David Finch, Francesco Mattina, Bill Sienkiewicz, Gabriele Dell'Otto, Lee Bermejo and Jock.

Set to drop in stores and online on April 29, 2020, the Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 will features stories written by a variety of famed comic book writers, including Tom Taylor, Scott Snyder, Brian Azzarello, Lee Bermejo, Paul Dini and many more. It will be priced at $9.99.
