Jeff Bridges had the honor of portraying the first-ever villain of the MCU when he played Obadiah Stane, aka Iron Monger, in the first "Iron Man" film. However, he might not have also been the first MCU villain to die if things had gone as originally planned.

In a Facebook Q&A for IGN, Bridges revealed that the original script called for a bit of ambiguity in Stane's final moment. "When I was hired on, it was scripted that Obadiah would live, that when they opened his Iron Monger suit...he was not in it," Bridges wrote. "Then, they decided to kill my ass off. Telling me 'it's a comic-fantasy, so who knows, your character could come back.' I guess we'll see..."

The future of more Iron Man standalone films is currently unknown, though Robert Downey Jr. will again reprise the role for this summer's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016.
