Oscar winner Jeff Bridges has joined the cast of "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." The veteran actor made the announcement today on Twitter.

Bridges joins previously announced Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Colin Firth.

According to Deadline, "The Golden Circle" picks up from where 2014's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" left off, with Egerton's Eggsy heading to the United States to join forces with the "Statesman," the Kingsman agency's American counterpart, following the destruction of Kingsman HQ by evil mastermind Poppy (Moore).

Based on the comic "The Secret Service" by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, the original film grossed $414.4 million worldwide.

Matthew Vaughn returns to direct "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," which opens June 16, 2017.
