The future looks to be a little less blonde in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. According to January Jones, who played Emma Frost in the first film, it's looking unlikely that she'll return for the sequel.

“I don’t know that I’m in it, I don’t think Emma’s in this one," the actress told Collider at the Sundance Film Festival. "Well, they haven’t told me if I am [laughs]. I wouldn’t put it past them, though. I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there. It’s called Days of Future Past, I think, and I think it’s more about James [McAvoy] and Michael [Fassbender] and then Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellen], and I think it’s gonna go back and forth with those so I don’t think Emma’s in those bits. I don’t know, I really don’t know.”

Considering this film is based on the classic Marvel Comics story about a future in which the X-Men have been all but hunted down and exterminated by Sentinels, it stands to reason the swinging '60s version of Emma Frost, a small role in the previous film, wouldn't make the cut. However, Days of Future Past is supposed to incorporate characters from all the previous incarnations, including X-Men and X2, which Singer also directed, so it's possible Jones will appear in a brief cameo, something along the lines of Famke Janssen's alleged role as Jean Grey in The Wolverine.
