Following the controversy surrounding the most recent issue of his semi-autobiographical Image Comics series "Airboy," writer James Robinson took to Twitter and both acknowledged and addressed his seeming lack of response, saying:

"My lack of response to opinions on Airboy #2 is not from indifference. In contact with GLAAD. Will issue statement tomorrow. Night night"

The controversy stems from the depiction of the transgender community and the comments of the characters in the comic, which come off as offensive and transphobic to some fans, while others have defended the issue, saying the main characters are meant to be jerks and that the comments of the characters do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the writers. While this most certainly can be the case, this particular case becomes hazy because the characters are based off of Robinson and artist Greg Hinkle.

Controversy aside, it does seem as though Robinson isn't reacting defensively and aggressively to his critics and has in fact kept the conversation civil. Coupled with his statement about speaking with GLAAD about the issue, Robinson appears to be taking positive steps after a negative response.
