James Bond will team up with a familiar face for his 24th feature film: Skyfall director Sam Mendes.

Last week, rumors flew about the filmmaker's return to the franchise after initially bowing out in March. According to Showbiz411, Mendes has not only signed on for James Bond 24, but is also close to nailing down a deal for the 25th film.

That's not the only bit of Bond news, however. Yahoo! Movies UK reports that Daniel Craig's James Bond will have none other than Academy Award-winning actress Penelope Cruz to deal with.

Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress statue for her role in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona and also has a connection to the Bond franchise by way of husband Javier Bardem, who played bad guy Silva in Skyfall. Sources contend producers had been trying to get Cruz in on the Bond action for a while.
