Universal Pictures has delivered a full-length trailer for "Everest," the action thriller inspired by the 1996 Mount Everest disaster in which eight people died.

Based on Jon Krakauer's book "Into Thin Air," Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal star in the true story of two expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest blizzards ever encountered as their attempt to reach the summit turns into a struggle for their lives.

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur ("2 Guns," "Contraband"), "Everest" also features Martin Henderson, Emily Watson, Michael Kelly and Thomas M. Wright. The film opens Sept. 18.
