Don't let the original source material for Jack the Giant Slayer fool you: This is an all-out war film. In the three new clips released from the director Bryan Singer's fantasy epic, we're shown some of the epic showdowns between Jack the Giant Slayer's humans and giants.

The giants are so overpowered in this movie that it seems nearly impossible for the humans to defeat them. Do they have a weakness, as Ian McShane asks Ewan McGregor? If they do, it likely has something to do with Nicholas Hoult's character Jack.

Warwick Davis, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy also star in the Warner Bros. feature. David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and Darren Lemke (Lost) came up with the story, which has been handled by Dobkin, longtime Singer collaborator Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Dan Studney (Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical). Jack the Giant Slayer opens March 1. Here's the movie's official synopsis:

Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
