Series creator James O'Barr has confirmed to Dread Central that actor Jack Huston has been cast as the title role in the upcoming "The Crow" reboot.

Huston has been connected to the role since not long after Luke Evans left the project back in January. At the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention, however, O'Barr told Dread Central that, "Jack Huston has definitely been cast." O'Barr is attached to the Relativity Media film as a consultant.

O'Barr also mentioned that he was "really happy with that choice," and that the film with go before the lens "in a couple of months." He went on to reaffirm that the new movie will be more of a direct adaptation of the original graphic novel than the Brandon Lee-starring version.

Huston was recently cast in Timur Bekmambetov's "Ben-Hur" remake, and is widely known for his role as Richard Harrow on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire."
