Star Wars: Episode VII may not be scheduled to appear at Comic-Con International, but that doesn't prevent director J.J. Abrams from throwing fans a bone ... in the form of our first official look at an X-Wing from the new trilogy.

In a new video from the set of episode VII, the filmmaker casually promotes "Star Wars: Force for Change," a campaign to raise funds for UNICEF's Innovation Labs, as the camera pulls back to reveal an X-Wing, a pilot in the customary orange flight suit, and a mouse droid.

"What's that doing here?" Abrams, pointing to the little droid, asks someone off-camera. "That."

An incomplete X-Wing was glimpsed among photos leaked last month that confirmed the inclusion of the Millennium Falcon, leading Abrams to slyly leak his own image, but this is the first official appearance by the fighter craft.
