U.K. network ITV is moving forward with a 10-part series based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The update, succinctly titled Jekyll & Hyde, is described as an action-adventure series that, according to a statement from ITV, will "exude mystery, fantasy, horror and sci-fi."

Comedian turned YA author Charlie Higson will write and executive produce the project, which will modernize the story slightly by setting it in 1930s London. There it will star Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original story's protagonist.

"It's an exciting challenge to take Stevenson's work and use it as the basis for a new Jekyll and Hyde," Higson said. "So many superheroes with secret dual personalities have been brought to life thanks to Jekyll and Hyde. He's one of literature's most important and influential characters, and it’s a privilege to be rediscovering him."

This is the second monster series ordered by ITV in the past month. The network will also air Frankenstein Chronicles ,starring Sean Bean. No actors have been announced for the roles of Jekyll or Hyde.
