NECA is taking fans back to 1978 with a set of action figures inspired by the DC Comics classic "Superman vs. Muhammad Ali."

Nerdist has the first look at the 7-inch figures, which are painted to resemble Neal Adams' famed cover.

In the oversized comic, the maniacal leader of the alien Scrubb demands that Earth's greatest champion face his race's greatest fighter. Superman and boxing great Muhammad Ali both come forward, but the latter objects to the Man of Steel, pointing out that he's not actually from Earth, and that his powers give him an unfair advantage.

The Scrubb leader decides that Ali and a de-powered Superman should fight, with the winner then facing the alien champion. (Spoiler alert: Ali wins.)

Prototypes will be on display next week at NECA's booth at Comic-Con International. The figures will be released in October.
