Warning: Possible Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice spoilers ahead.
There's been a lot of debate surrounding Scoot McNairy's role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, director Zack Snyder's upcoming follow-up to Man of Steel. Recent set photos of the actor wearing business attire and green-screen socks suggested to some that he'll be the DC movie universe's Flash, but a new report contends he's playing someone entirely different — but very familiar, all the same.
Here's who McNairy is playing, according to a rumor reported by The Devils Eyes:
"Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs." The source goes on to add "He doesn't blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world."
Could that be it? Is Scoot McNairy our new Jimmy Olsen? And if so, how much more depressing is the Man of Steel climax now?
Whether McNairy is indeed playing the intrepid Jimmy or an entirely different character, we're certain to learn more as we move closer to the March 2016 release of Dawn of Justice.
