James Cameron's trying to keep things in the extended creative family for his next film. According to TheWrap, the director of the two highest-grossing movies of all time has turned to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator Josh Friedman to take a pass at the Avatar 2 script.

The site goes on to say that no one would officially state whether Friedman is working on the script. He also wrote the script for Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds as well as the never-aired Locke & Key pilot.

Premiering in 2009, Avatar utilized newly developed technology to shoot and present the picture in high-quality 3D. The film is the highest-grossing movie of all time, ahead of Cameron's own Titanic. Original stars Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington are expected to return for the sequel.
