Less than a month after a rumor surfaced that Marvel is developing a television drama based on the “Agent Carter” short film comes another potentially tantalizing report: that the studio has much bigger plans for the small screen.
According to Deadline, there’s buzz that super-secretive Marvel is quietly assembling a “package” of four series and a miniseries, totaling about 60 episodes, “that would be taken out to the VOD and cable space, with Netflix, Amazon and WGN America rumored as potential candidates.”
“Feelers had been sent out,” the website reports, “and I hear there’s already interest from digital platforms and traditional cable networks in the package, which I hear is in very early stages with very little talent attached.”
Unfortunately, that’s the only information there is. Marvel of course already has Agents of S.H.l.E.L.D. airing on corporate sibling ABC, but the studio hasn’t had any luck with its other planned live-action television projects (among them, an Incredible Hulk revival, Mockingbird, The Punisher, Cloak & Dagger and AKA Jessica Jones).
