JUSTICE LEAGUE"Justice League" rumor alert! The upcoming film may be based on a 1980s "Justice League of America" storyarc, in which the Justice League and Justice Society get transported to New Genesis, home planet of the New Gods. The three issue story written by Gerry Conway with art by Dick Dillin, George Perez and Frank McLaughlin features a plot by the Injustice Gang to resurrect Darkseid, who plans to transport Apokolips to the Earth-2 universe. It's a complicated plot, especially for a movie that hopes to launch/re-launch multiple franchises. File this one under rumor for now.

THE MUMMYMovieWeb spoke with director Len Wiseman about his plans for a remake of "The Mummy," which will not be related to the Brendan Frasier films at all.
"There was skepticism. The difference between the two, if 'The Mummy' is to be the next movie for me, is that 'The Mummy' is a completely different film. It is a modern day take. It doesn't have anything to do with the Brendan Fraser films, and it is not a remake of any kind," Wiseman told MovieWeb. "The Mummy is one of Universal's long standing, iconic characters, well before the Brendan Fraser movies... This is such a different thing. What was attractive to me...There is still a script to be written, and all of that....But the pitch was to go with a much different tone. It was a Mummy like I'd never heard of before. Its nothing like what you would expect, at all, oddly. I was picturing Egypt, and the sand swept settings. The mummy wrappings. When I heard what they were wanting to actually do with it, it was shocking..."

TRON 3NextMovie has confirmed "Tron: Legacy" star Garrett Hedlund will return as Sam Flynn in "Tron 3." Hedlund confirmed the casting while on his press tour for the U.S. release of "On the Road."
"Disney's very excited," Hedlund told NextMovie. "That's about that. You know, yeah, I'm very excited, Disney's very excited."
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 4Not really an announcement of a new movie by any means -- but Heritage Auctions have put up concept art by Kevin Eastman for the fourth "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film that never got past production. Contained in the lot are sketches of Kirby (the fifth turtle) and characters like Bugman and Evil April. Thanks to Comic Book Movie for the heads up.
