IRON MAN 3Kevin Feige spoke with USA Today about Ben Kingsley's portrayal of the villainous Mandarin in "Iron Man 3," and how the strength of his portrayal affected production.

"On his last take of his first full day as the Mandarin, when they yelled 'Cut!' the entire crew burst into applause, spearheaded by Mr. Downey himself," Feige told USA Today. "It was pretty amazing to see that. That's what you get when you hire Sir Ben Kingsley. He's so excited about his part and so into this character, and frankly just scaring the heck out of everybody. They're like, 'You've broken us out of our skeptical malaise!'"

SciFi Now Magazine published a feature on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (posted by Cosmic Book News) with quotes from Feige, who further described "Iron Man 3" as a not-so-serious film.

"Frankly, the first step of the grand plan with 'Iron Man 3' is to prove [the characters] are just as interesting, if not more so, by themselves as they were when they were all together in 'The Avengers,'" Feige told SciFi Now. "Iron Man 3, by design, is a very serious character study. It's not a serious movie, but we seriously dug into exploring more of Tony, of Rhodey [Don Cheadle's James 'War Machine' Rhodes and of Pepper [Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow], without calling S.H.I.E.L.D. and calling Thor or Cap."

Meanwhile, Audi posted a photo on Instagram noting the Audi E-tron car will be featured in "Iron Man 3." The photo of the car has the license plate "Stark17."
