Iron Man 2, Smallville, Scott Pilgrim: March 12th Comic Reel

IRON MAN 2

The news is in from E! Onlne — both Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke have joined the metal minded movie as two Soviet antagonists, with Johannson confirmed as Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. What are the chances Rourke will wear red as he plays Whiplash?

Directed by Jon Favreau, release date: May 7, 2010.

SMALLVILLE

From Iron Man to the future man of steel, Kryptonsite has fresh spoilers about the title of the season finale (scroll down, you’ll find it).

Next episode, “Infamous,” tonight!

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

No release date announced.

ANGEL OF DEATH

Writer Ed Brubaker spoke to CBR News about his Crackle.com effort.

Starring Zoe Bell, airing March 2-March 13, 2009.

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

If some Deadpool-related spoilers would do it for you, maybe you’d like to check out this Toyfare scan at Comic Book Movie showing the “final look” of the character, and an interesting spoilery rumor from IMDB that calls for the old switcheroo.

Directed by Gavin Hood, release date: May 1, 2009.

BILLY BATSON AND THE POWER OF SHAZAM

Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talked to Moviefone and told them, “I’m not too sure where it’s at right now, to be honest with you. There was a considerable amount of creative differences between the script that came in and the tone and the direction that the studio wanted to take the movie. So I believe we went back to square one, but Pete’s got great ideas, and I’m pumped to work with him again.”

No release date announced.

HEROES

Herosite has a gallery of new production stills from next week’s episode.

Next episode, “Cold Snap,” March 23, 2009.

BRAVE AND THE BOLD

Voice actor James Sie was interviewed by The Pulse about getting into the tiny role of Ray Palmer. “The best thing about playing Atom is that my son gets to have tons of bragging rights,” he said. “I played a lot of villains. He was tired of me being the bad guy. He wanted me to be the hero. This was a great opportunity to step up and play someone he could boast about. I am really happy when he watches and gets into everything. He’s thrilled that I’m playing a superhero and that he can play with my action figure and tell his friends, ‘My dad’s a superhero!'”

Next episode: “Mystery in Space,” March 13, 2009.

WATCHMEN

CBR News has a video interview with the cast and director talking about the film’s modern day relevance.

Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Ackerman.
