From day one, Iron Fist has received backlash at almost every stage of its production. From the lack of diversity shown when casting its leading character to mishandled characterization, the series left much to be desired in the eyes of a good portion of its audience. Another missing piece of the puzzle that was particularly glaring to comic fans was the absence of Danny Rand's signature yellow and green costume.

Finn Jones, who played Rand in the series as well as the upcoming The Defenders, spoke with HHWLOD about just when fans might be able to get a first glimpse of his classic digs. “I think moving forward to Season 2, we’ll see something like that [the classic costume]," Jones said. "Personally I hope we get the wispy kind of ripples at the back of the mask. That’s a super cool effect. I think it would actually be annoying, the logistics of it but I think it would look really cool.”

The remarks make it seem that while The Defenders will be pivotal for the development of Danny Rand's character, the crossover series will not include the first reveal of the Iron Fist costume. However, while Jones refers to Season 2, Iron Fist is the only show out of Netflix's Marvel catalog to not already be commissioned for multiple seasons, ultimately leaving the arrival of the hero's costume up in the air.
