Omni-Man's power level places him on a much higher pedestal than the rest of his superhero community. The Invincible comic showed that he very easily dispatched the Guardians of the Globe. The original comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley featured a character with no limit within the superhero community on Earth.

If Omni-Man entered the DC Comics universe, the more powerful and experienced heroes of the Justice League could possibly outmatch him. Omni-Man would still have the advantage over many veteran heroes, but some might give him some trouble.

Updated on January 27, 2023, by Scoot Allan: Amazon Prime Video recently teased a trailer for the second season of the hit Invincible animated series. Omni-Man is the father of Invincible and one of the most powerful beings in his universe. This makes him the perfect character to enter into a series of matchups from the DC universe to see just how well he stacks up to the rest.

DC Heroes Omni-Man Could Beat

Lobo Would Be Torn Apart By Omni-Man

DC's Main Man is a powerful alien known as Lobo, the last surviving member of the Czarnian race. Lobo has incredible power which makes him one of DC's strongest superheroes. He also has a powerful healing factor that can regrow his body from a single drop of blood.

Lobo's healing factor could mean that Omni-Man would never be able to fully get rid of DC's bounty hunter. However, Omni-Man's rage and nearly unlimited strength give him the win in every vicious battle between the two intergalactic powerhouses.

Omni-Man Would Exploit Ultra Boy's Limitations

Ultra Boy from DC Comics grinning in flight

Jo-Nah is a powerful member of the Legion of Super-Heroes known as Ultra Boy. Exposure to alien energies gave him powerful abilities like super-strength, flight, super-speed, and enhanced durability. Unfortunately, his body was only capable of using one of those abilities at a time, which Omni-Man would definitely exploit.

Ultra Boy would have to choose between flight or super-strength in an aerial battle if he didn't have his Legion flight ring. Omni-Man could easily fly right through him while in the air. Ultra Boy's other abilities like super-speed could briefly give him an edge. However, without super-strength to use alongside, he isn't causing much damage and would be easily beaten.

Hawkgirl's Flight Pales In Comparison To Omni-Man

Hawkgirl holding a sword

Justice League regular Kendra Saunders pulls her own weight on her team using her Nth metal mace and wings to great effect. The cosmos does have some horrors for even Viltrumites and she might well be able to hurt him with an exotic substance like Nth metal. She also is a skilled, fast flyer, but things start to fall apart the second Hawkgirl tries to take Omni-Man on in the air.

Omni-Man's speed is far beyond anything Hawkgirl can deal with. Nolan Grayson's maneuverability in the air would allow him to avoid any attack and Hawkgirl couldn't take a single punch from the powerful Viltrumite. This fight would likely end similarly to the Guardians of the Globe battle, with Hawkgirl demolished by Omni-Man's ferocity before she has a chance to defend herself.

The Green Lantern Corps Wouldn't Have A Chance

The Green Lantern Corps with Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner

Green Lanterns are incredibly powerful but they're basically mortal behind their rings and constructs. Regardless of which Lantern steps up, Nolan Grayson's speed and strength give him a huge advantage. He completely devastated seven of his world's strongest heroes in less than a moment when he killed the Guardians of the Globe and he's devastated entire armies in deep-space combat.

Omni-Man would reduce even the Corps' most powerful Lanterns, like Hal Jordan and John Stewart, into a fine red mist before they could react. Omni-Man is a direct and determined fighter. He doesn't care for theatrics and wouldn't approach the Lanterns with caution or respect. As his enemies, he would kill them as quickly as possible with no questions asked.

No Amount Of Prep-Time Would Save The Dark Knight

The Cover Of Batman R.I.P.

This may come as a surprise to some comic fans, but the oft-repeated mantra that with enough time to prepare, Batman could defeat any opponent isn't a hard and fast rule. It can only work if the enemy has a weakness to exploit. Nolan shows no obvious weaknesses besides brute force and his inner-ear sensitivity, and both Invincible and Omni-Man have found ways around the latter limitation.

Darkwing, Invincible's equivalent to Batman, was also powerless against Omni-Man. Batman's prep time argument doesn't always work. Despite having more than thirty years of prep in The Dark Knight Returns, Batman still lost his fight with Superman in the end. Prep time means nothing sometimes, especially with powerful characters like Omni-Man.

Shazam Has The Power Of Gods But Is Still Just A Child

Shazam getting power from the lightning

While the Wizard gifted Bill Batson the powers of the Greek gods, Shazam is an inexperienced hero. Even a powerful child can't hope to defeat a soldier with decades of experience facing incredibly potent foes. Like many other DC characters, Batson would also be shocked and overwhelmed by Omni-Man's incredibly direct, deadly, fighting style.

Even with the help of Shazam's adopted and empowered family, they are simply not prepared for a warmongering disaster like Omni-Man. In the worst-case scenario, Nolan could even prevent Billy from saying his magic word. Likely faster than even mystical lightning, Omni-Man could stop this fight before it started.

The Flash's Speed Means Nothing Without Invulnerability

Barry Allen running as The Flash

Even if he's one of DC's fastest speedsters, The Flash isn't untouchable. Whether it's Barry Allen, Wally West, or even Jay Garrick in the Flash's costume, they're all vulnerable to other speedsters, and even mere mortals like Captain Cold can surprise them.

Omni-Man would only need the slightest contact to defeat the Flash. He's fast, but not tough, and if he's not running at light speed, destroying his environment can immobilize him, and Nolan flies a lot faster than any bullet. The Speed Force does protect the various Flashes from problems like being incinerated by friction, but a planet-destroying force like Nolan could overwhelm it.

DC Heroes Who Could Beat Omni-Man

Black Canary Could Exploit His Greatest Weakness

Black Canary using her sonic scream

While a closely-guarded secret among the Viltrumites, the powerful alien race has developed a unique weakness that makes them susceptible to loud high-pitched frequencies. They've evolved exceptionally sensitive inner ears that make omnidirectional flight possible. The sonic right frequency can cause disorientation, pain, and even death.

Black Canary is one of DC's most gifted fighters, but it's her powerful sonic attack that could give her an edge in a fight with a Viltrumite like Omni-Man. Her "canary cry" could destabilize him and potentially knock him out with a direct hit, especially if she could figure out the frequency that resonates with Viltrumite biology.

Orion's Astro Harness Could Destroy Omni-Man

Orion wearing and firing his Astro-Harness

The Viltrumites feared a powerful weapon owned by the Space Racer that could fire unstoppable blasts of energy. These blasts could tear through entire planets or stars as well as powerful characters like Omni-Man. The DC Universe has a similar weapon called the Astro-Harness and the New God Orion wears it in battle.

The Astro-Harness is both a vehicle for Orion as well as a powerful weapon that allows him to harness the energies of the Astro-Force. Orion can use the Astro-Harness to charge up his own superhuman strength or project positive and negative Astro-Force blasts that can shatter planets when fully unleashed.

Cyborg's White Noise Cannon Could Take Omni-Man Down

Cyborg using his White Noise Cannon

Both Omni-Man and Invincible have proven themselves pretty unstoppable when facing robots. However, Victor Stone/Cyborg has a few tricks up his sleeve that could take out both of the Image Comics' heroes. One of Cyborg's more powerful weapons is a White Noise Sonic Cannon. It can create specific frequencies of sonic energy and use them offensively.

Given the Viltrumites' weakness to certain vibrations that affected their sensitive inner ears, Cyborg could jack up the proper frequency to incapacitate or even kill his opponents. Assuming, of course, that he wasn't quickly torn into pieces by the much stronger Omni-Man.

Superman Has Far Too Many Incredible Powers

As powerful as Omni-Man is, Superman is never an easy opponent. Going purely by the comic's depiction of Omni-Man, he'd put up a very good fight but would ultimately lose. While fans know that Superman is very powerful, the big blue boy scout can truly shock fans when he cuts loose.

Some of Superman's strongest feats in the comics include holding a black hole in his fist to prevent it from growing. He flew trillions of miles in space in mere minutes. He once lifted a book of infinite pages, meaning that Superman has no clear limitation to his powers. Omni-Man is powerful, but even the most powerful Viltrumites have limitations.

Wonder Woman Is A Nigh-Unstoppable Killing Machine

Wonder Woman flying at the reader from Evolution

Wonder Woman has perfected her skills through centuries of warfare. She fights alongside heroes like Superman and battles his foes with great ferocity. Much like Nolan, Wonder Woman is a soldier first and a hero second and her battle tactics are a lot like his. Most importantly, she prefers to end problems quickly.

Unlike her Justice League teammates, Diana sees no issue with killing villains to save others. Even ignoring her occasional role as an all-powerful cosmic entity, Diana still has a huge advantage over Omni-Man. Her magical weaponry and physiology could give her the edge she needs to overcome Omni-Man.

Martian Manhunter Is As Powerful As Superman

Martian Manhunter using his Martian Vision

With strength equal to Superman's as well as the power to increase and decrease his body's density at will, Martian Manhunter presents a great challenge to Nolan's quick and decisive style. Nolan literally can't harm a foe who can become intangible.

Adding in Martian Manhunter's psychic powers, it's obvious that he's a threat Omni-Man can't battle with force alone. While he can start fires to weaken the Martian, J'onn can also fly away from them at supersonic speeds. Eventually, the Manhunter from Mars would wear Nolan down to the point where he could subdue Omni-Man.

Dr. Fate's Magic Is Leagues Beyond The Viltrumites

Doctor Fate using his powerful magical abilities

Should the Lords of Order allow it, Doctor Fate's many mystical powers would be unlike anything Nolan has faced before. With a foe he cannot fight head-on, Nolan's defenses would fall against Doctor Fate, as he prepared any number of spells to attack him physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The sheer size of Fate's cosmic power dwarfs the Viltrumites' physical abilities. Even on the smallest scale, Fate could warp Nolan and trap him within the Tower of Fate. With no knowledge of the magical arts, Omni-Man would likely remain trapped forever, leaving Fate as the victor by default.

Icon Is Milestone's Superman

Icon from Milestone Comics wielding energy blasts

Icon is a Superman-inspired character from Milestone Comics' Dakotaverse under the DC label. Augustus Freeman is a powerful alien with seemingly limitless strength and durability. Even assuming Nolan could match him physically, Icon's energy manipulation powers give him a clear advantage.

Icon's alien technology also grants him another advantage against Omni-Man. The limits of Icon's abilities are still unknown, but he was capable of punching Superman out of the Justice League Watchtower with relative ease. There's less documentary evidence of Icon's power but there's no doubt that Omni-Man would lose this fight.
