It's arrival was almost a mathematical certainty, but today Marvel Comics teased the next step for the Avengers franchise with an image promising "The All-New, All-Different Avengers."

Aside from a May launch date, the image is as low on details as it gets. But considering that the publisher just announced the grand finale of current Avengers lead writer Jonathan Hickman for April, this means the new series will pick up immediately on the heels of his story and run concurrently with Marvel and Hickman's major "Secret Wars" event. Whether the book will tie into that mega crossover or find a way to replace the publisher's flagship franchise while the classic Earth's Mightiest Heroes are off on Battleworld is yet to be seen.

Stay tuned to CBR News for more on the book as it becomes available.
