"Revival," Tim Seeley and Mike Norton's creator-owned Image Comics series, might have recently ceased publication having reached its 47th and final issue earlier this year, but appropriately enough for a story about people returning from the dead, it seems the series is itself facing a resurrection of sorts. The comic has been optioned for a live-action movie adaptation from independent production company Shatterglass Films, and already has its first teaser trailer.

According to Bleeding Cool, the film, which was announced at Shatterglass Films' panel at the recent C2E2 convention in Chicago, has both the comics' original creators onboard as producers, with Seely also set to co-write its script.

Shatterglass has even put together a teaser trailer, which premiered at the panel, to give fans a better idea of what to expect from the film once it enters into production in 2018.

"Revival" is set in a rural Wisconsin town where the recently dead don't stay dead anymore – they just want to return to their lives and continue going about their business. The story focuses on local police officer Dana Cypress, who has a very personal interest in the revived as they include her murdered sister Em among their number.

Directed by Luke Boyce, "Revival" is currently scheduled to begin filming in 2018. No cast has yet been announced.
