Image Debuts 25th Anniversary LGBTQ Pride Month Variants

Image has revealed the first 11 variant covers that celebrate Pride Month and benefit the Human Rights Campaign.

Image Comics continues its 25th anniversary celebration with a new batch of 11 variant covers, this time themed around and timed to coincide with Pride Month this June.

According to press release from Image, "the variants will serve to celebrate the LGBTQ community and the progress made by the Gay Liberation Movement in promoting inclusivity and support for all. 100% of the proceeds made from these June Pride variant covers will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign."

In a statement to promote the variants, Image Comics publisher Eric Stephenson said: “We are so thankful for the opportunity to support the LGBTQ community during Pride Month this year by partnering once again with the Human Rights Campaign."

"It’s never been a secret that Image Comics is supportive of creative freedom," Stephenson said, "but it’s important that we also make it clear that we stand for inclusivity, diversity, and equality, now more than ever. We hope these variants will serve as a positive display of that ongoing commitment.”

June was chosen as Pride Month by the LGBTQ activist Brenda Howard, organizer of the first Gay Pride march that commemorated the 1969 Stonewall Riots that began when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a Manhattan gay bar, in late June.
