Hot on the heels of the recent announcement that Disney Licensed Publishing will team up with IDW Publishing to produce an all-ages "Star Wars" comic, comes news that the two companies will also collaborate on comic books based on two other Disney properties: "DuckTales" and "Tangled: The Series."

Featuring Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, Louie and all the rest, Disney XD's highly-anticipated new "DuckTales" animated show has already secured a second season before its first episode has even aired. IDW's comic version will premiere this July with a $3.99 #0 issue that promises to be "the perfect jumping on point for both longtime fans and newcomers."

That title will be followed in August by an original 72-page $9.99 "Tangled" graphic novel titled "Adventure is Calling." An adaptation of Disney's upcoming "Tangled: The Series" the book will feature the further exploits of Rapunzel, Eugene (formerly known as Flynn Rider), Pascal, Maximus and "new friend" Cassandra.

No creative teams for either title have yet been confirmed, but IDW Group Editor Sarah Gaydos is quoted in the press release saying, “We’re extremely excited to expand IDW's relationship with Disney. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding both of these new animated series and we aim to live up to, and exceed, fan expectations.”

Interestingly, this latest collaboration further shows Disney's increasing willingness to license its all-ages comics rather than producing them through Disney-owned Marvel. It's further unexpected cooperation between publishers and companies, as also seen by Archie Comics producing "Marvel Comics Digest" starting this June.
