Following the implication by DC Extended Universe "superhero" Peacemaker that he should be framed for murder, prolific rapper and actor Ice-T has responded to the HBO Max original series’ creator James Gunn.Earlier this week, trailblazing rapper, actor, producer and reality star Ice-T retweeted a clip from Peacemaker in which John Cena’s titular character rattles off a cadre of people that Steve Agee’s John Economos could have framed for murder instead of his father, Auggie Smith. Noticing that he was included on the list, the star of New Jack City, Tank Girl, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit said, "Shout out to James Gunn for Framing me for murder.. lol."RELATED: Peacemaker's James Gunn Responds to Backlash From #BoycottWB Movement

In the fifth episode of Peacemaker, the vulgar, metal-loving, heavily armed vigilante from the pages of DC Comics learned that his team framed his father for the murder of Annie Sturphausen, the woman that Peacemaker went home with for a one-night stand in the first episode. In reality, it was Christopher Smith who did the deed, after she turned out to be a vessel for a Butterfly, the race of parasitic aliens that his team is tasked with hunting down. This revelation led to the gag in Ice-T’s post.

Ending the tweet with the acronym for "laughing out loud" indicates that the hip-hop pioneer decided to laugh about it. However, if Ice-T ever decides that it’s no longer funny, Peacemaker might want to watch his back. Although he lives a fairly tame life these days with reality shows and guest spots, the O.G. Original Gangster’s past lives include stints as a soldier and a bank robber.

This also isn’t Ice-T’s first run-in with a show about a kind of peacemaker. Back in 2010, the Crenshaw native produced a docu-reality series for A&E called The Peacemaker, which followed former criminal turned gang mediator Malik Spellman as he attempted to keep gang violence in South Central Los Angeles at bay.

New episodes of Peacemaker can be seen on HBO Max every Thursday. After this week’s episode, titled "Murn After Reading," there’s only one more left until the finale. However, as business is about to pick up on the show, Gunn has already made remarks hinting at a potential second season.
