We continue a MONTH of I Saw It Advertised One Day! Each day this January you'll get a piece looking at advertisements in comic books over the decades that amused me for whatever reason. In each installment, we'll take a look at three ads!

Here is an archive of all installments of this feature.

Just two installments left! Today is a special edition based on reader request - all Hostess ads!

Enjoy!

I have steered clear of featuring Hostess ads because so many other sites have done a lot of bits on them, but people keep asking me to feature them, so what can I say, if you guys want 'em, I'll give 'em to ya! Here are three Hostess ads that amused me...

Wow, even Red Tornado had a Hostess ad!

But clearly the oddest character to get their own Hostess ad has to be Cracky the Parrot, Gold Key's short-lived attempt at having a break-out funny animal character...

Finally, I love this Captain Marvel ad because Nitro is A. an actual villain and B. the character who ended up giving Captain Marvel the cancer that ultimately killed him...

"Your Hostess cakes got me this time, Captain Marvel! But later, I'll give you cancer and kill you! Then blow up a school full of kids, kill three New Warriors and start a Civil War!"

These ads were courtesy of this nifty site.

And, of course, you should read Seanbaby's hilarious Hostess website where he mocks the ads mercilessly.

That's all for this installment! If you can think of some goofy comic book ads you'd like to see me feature in the future (as after this month, I'll still occasionally do installments of this feature), drop me a line at bcronin@comicbookresources.com. Do not make suggestions in the comment section, so that they can still be a surprise for future readers! In fact, I think I'll just delete comments that contain future suggestions. I
