Every installment of I Love Ya But You're Strange I spotlight strange but ultimately endearing comic stories. Here is the archive of all the installments of this feature. Feel free to e-mail me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com if you have a suggestion for a future installment!

Today we take a look at an amazing crossover in the pages of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Okay, in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #11-12, by Katie Cook and Andy Price (and colorist Heather Breckel), Princess Cadance and Shining Armor are relating the story of how they first fell in love back in high school (they eventually got married).

In the first part of this two-part story, we see how Shining Armor's friends tried to help him win Cadance over.

Notice the pony Gaffer who comes up with the plan.

Okay, so at the end of #11, the plan fails miserably and Cadance goes to the prom with this jerk pony named Buck Withers.

Gaffer and the gang aren't giving up yet (meanwhile, Cadance is planning on breaking up with Buck at the dance anyways)...

At the dance, Gaffer runs interference for Shining Armor and Cadance...

Things were looking good until the king and the queen were named and it was Cadance and that jerk Buck. He uses the opportunity to run Shining Armor down, calling him a loser, etc. But then Shining Armor stands up to him and Gaffer jumps in and has everyone rally around what a good pony Shining Armor is...

And thus, the day is won!

However, check out the ending...

Yep, Sam Beckett (or at least the pony version of Sam Beckett) leaped into Gaffer and his mission on this leap was to get Cadance and Shining Armor together! How awesome is that? What a great bit by Cook and Price (Price's first comic gig was drawing Quantum Leap twenty years ago for Innovation, so it was doubly cool by him!)
