The first photos have arrived of stars Zoe Saldana and Madison Wolfe in I Kill Giants, the film adaptation of the 2008 Image Comics series by Joe Kelly and J. M. Ken Niimura.

Directed by Anders Walter in his feature debut, the film follows the story of outcast fifth-grader Barbara Thorson (Wolfe), who finds fantasy worlds, such as Dungeons & Dragons, much easier to deal with than the reality in which she lives. Barbara's troubles leads to her interacting with giants that she's convinced she must combat, although it's uncertain if they're all part of her imagination and coping mechanism.

Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek) plays school psychologist Ms. Molle. Imogen Poots (Need for Speed, Fright Night) also stars.

Kelly wrote the film's screenplay. Chris Columbus his producing the film through 1492 Pictures/Ocean Blue Entertainment, along with Kim Magnusson, Kyle Franke, Man of Action Entertainment, Umedia and XYZ Films.

Published to critical acclaim, I Kill Giants won “Best Indy Book of 2008” by IGN as well as the Gold Award at the 5th International Manga Award in 2012. It was also named in 2010 among the “Top Ten Great Graphic Novels For Teens” by the Young Adult Library Services Association.
