It was only a matter of time before Lost actor Jorge Garcia got more work in Hollywood — not counting that crazy Weezer cover, of course — but are his fans ready to move on from the lovable lug known as Hugo "Hurley" Reyes? They'll have to try, as Garcia has landed a new television gig opposite Matthew Perry.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Garcia is set to guest star on Mr. Sunshine, a new series debuting on ABC in the midseason. The show revolves around Ben Donovan (Perry), the self-absorbed manager of a San Diego sports arena who finds himself reassessing his life on his 40th birthday. Garcia appears in the pilot episode of the series as one of the staffers working for Perry's character, meaning that there's plenty of opportunity for the role to expand should viewer response warrant it.

As a Lost fan, I'm thrilled that Garcia is following the lead of several of his colleagues with some new work. That said, I'm not sure I'm ready to divorce Garcia from Hurley just yet. We'll see, I suppose — if nothing else, my interest in Mr. Sunshine is piqued by Garcia's involvement.
