Paramount Pictures has signed newcomer screenwriters Willie Block and Jake Emanuel for a new action-comedy that may mix The Hunchback of Notre Dame with Pirates of the Caribbean... Or maybe not.

As the Hollywood Reporter explains, Paramount is keeping quiet about exactly what the Block/Emanuel pitch is, with sources describing it as giving the Pirates treatment to a story that mixes original ideas to a Hunchback framework... which I'm not even sure I can decipher completely. The movie will be produced by Transformers and GI Joe's Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
