While many fans may hope to see a showdown between the Hulk and Thor or the Hulk and Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok," Mark Ruffalo hints the most interesting confrontation could involve Marvel's Green Goliath and his alter ego Bruce Banner

Reiterating that "the only person the Hulk is scared of in the entire world is Banner," the actor tells Collider their relationship in "Ragnarok" is different from in previous films.

"What's exciting about Bruce at this point," Ruffalo said, "is the arc he's ultimately making and his relationship to the Hulk. And how that is going to resolve itself. No one's really gone to that place. They're coming for a collision course with each other. I think could be pretty exciting if we could find a way to do it, multi-dimensionally."

Directed by Taika Waititi, "Thor: Ragnarok" is rumored to draw elements from the Marvel Comics storyline "Planet Hulk," in which the Hulk is banished from Earth and lands on a violent planet, where he's forced to participate in gladiatorial games. It there, the rumor goes, that Thor will encounter his Avengers teammate.

Production is set to begin next month on "Thor: Ragnarok," which also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Karl Urban and Jeff Goldblum. The film opens Nov. 3, 2017.
