In an interview with Yahoo! Movies, longtime "X-Men" star Hugh Jackman revealed his belief that an "Avengers"/"X-Men" crossover could really happen, particularly following Sony and Disney's collaborative deal for Spider-Man.

"I'm surprised by what's happened with Spider-Man joining," Jackman said. "You're in a very complex world where big, big sums of money are being spent for different franchises and so getting them together is difficult."

What's more, Jackman shared how his attitude changed thanks in large part to this new Spider-Man deal. "Two years ago I'd have said you'd be a real optimist to think it'd ever happen, but weirdly now I just think it maybe could. I think there is the possibility that it will happen."

If the tables were turned, however, Jackman said that he'd love to see Iron Man show up in the "X-Men" universe. On Robert Downey Jr.'s take on the role, he commented, "I can't think of him as anyone else. They are inseparable.... I would love to do that."
