For 17 years, fans have been clamoring to see Hugh Jackman don Wolverine's iconic costume and mask from the comic books. Their last opportunity to have that wish fulfilled came passed with "Logan," the actor's farewell to the beloved superhero. But that doesn't mean Jackman is done teasing them with the possibility.

Jackman posted a photo of himself today holding the classic mask.

Referred to by the actor as simply "THE Mask," this doesn't appear to be the same version that appeared in a deleted scene from "The Wolverine," which was revealed in a briefcase alongside the rest of the costume. Instead, what Jackman's holding looks more like something from a child's Halloween costume.

This isn't the first time Jackman has teased Wolverine's classic costume, either. Just last month, he posted a photo of a Wolverine action figure suited up in the brown-and-tan costume introduced in "Uncanny X-Men" #139.

Unfortunately, the actor posting a photo teasing Wolverine's costume doesn't generate the same level of excitement as it did before, with Jackman remaining adamant that "Logan" is his last on-screen appearance as the character.

Directed by James Mangold, “Logan” is set in the near future, years after the epilogue of 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” In it, a weary Logan, whose healing factor is failing, cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.

Now in theaters nationwide, “Logan” stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Dafne Keen and Stephen Merchant.
