Warner Bros. has released eight clips, amounting to more than eight and a half minutes of footage, from "Pan," director Joe Wright's Peter Pan origin story.

You'll see newcomer Levi Miller's solid performance as young Peter, Rooney Mara's sword-fighting prowess as Tiger Lily, Garrett Hedlund's weird accent as a pre-pirate Hook and, yes, Hugh Jackman at his scenery-chewing best as the villainous Blackbeard.

In the film, Blackbeard kidnaps young Peter and other orphans from Edwardian London to work the mines in Neverland. There, the boy teams with Hook to escape, oppose their captor and discover his destiny.

Opening Oct. 9, “Pan” also stars Adeel Akhtar as Smee, Taejoo Na as Kwahu, Nonso Anozie as Bishop, Kathy Burke as Mother Barnabas, Kurt Egyiawan as Murray, Lewis MacDougall as Nibs, Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling, Jack Charles as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father, and Amanda Seyfried as Mary.
