If you're among the thousands of Naruto fans hoping to get Masashi Kishimoto's autograph during his appearances in October at New York Comic Con and New York Super Week, Viz Media has announced what you'll have to do.

In his first-ever appearance in the United States, Kishimoto will participate in two convention panels, on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, and two signing sessions, on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.

For the first signing, held at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Kinokuniya Book Store, you'll have to purchase a SuperWeek event ticket. At the event, attendees will be given a free autographed Shikishi art board with the purchase of one of Kishimoto's works -- like, say, a copy of the 72 volume of Naruto featuring an exclusive New York Comic Con variant cover drawn by the artist. That's important, as Kishimoto will only sign the art board or books purchased on-site. Kinokuniya is located at 1073 Avenue of the Americas.

That's followed at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, by a signing session at Barnes & Noble Tribeca (97 Warren St.), which will be limited to the first 110 customers who purchase one of Kishimoto's works. As with the Kinokuniya event, attendees will receive an exclusive Shikishi art board. Likewise, Kishimoto will only sign that art board or one of his books purchased on-site.

“Masashi Kishimoto has had a tremendous impact on the pop culture landscape with Naruto," Andy Nakatani, editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump, said in a statement. "We are honored to welcome him to New York Comic Con and Super Week and invite fans to share in the excitement with these special personal appearances!”
