Even as Donald Trump stokes fears of voter fraud and a "rigged" election, and both the U.S. government and the Clinton campaign warn of Russian interference, "The Simpsons" has combined the two fears in a single promo.

In the animated short, Homer waits in the voting line, where a bearded stranger strikes up a political conversation, and endorses "the orange man." Homer, who's already signaled his support for Hillary Clinton, says he's voting for "the candidate who forgave her husband no matter what he did -- not the guy who really likes his daughters."

The stranger's pro-Trump patter goes well enough until he proclaims that "he has a plan to make Russia great again!" Sharp enough to see through that ruse, Homer pulls of the man's mask to reveal Vladimir Putin ... who, it turns out, is on the voter roll in Springfield. No wonder Mayor Quimby has remained in office for so long!

Homer, on the other hand, isn't registered, which seems about right. "You have to let me vote," he argues. "This is a swing state! My vote is worth more than a million Californians!"

It's worth noting that, as with the rest of the country, the presidential election has put a strain on relationships in Springfield: Mr. Burns wears a T-shirt emblazoned with "Average Joes For Trump," while Smithers sports a shirt that reads "I'm With Him" on the front, and "Vote For Hillary, Pray For Hillary, Love Hillary" on the back.

"The Simpsons" airs its 600th episode, "Treehouse of Horror XXVII," tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
