Before the video game series gets its second shot as big screen immortality, "Hitman: Agent 47" makes his escape from the world of consoles in the form of a prequel comic.

Written by F.J. DeSanto ("Cyborg 009") with art by Jesus Hervas, the one-shot not only tells a tale that takes place before the movie's story, the final scene of the comic leads directly into the opening of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The comic is the latest result of BOOM! Studios partnership with Fox, which givs the studio first-look rights on BOOM!-published comics, and allows BOOM! to create comics based on Fox properties. This particular project came from the minds of BOOM! President of Development Stephen Christy and "Hitman: Agent 47" Producer Adrien Askarieh.

While there is no release date yet announced for the one-shot, the film arrives in theaters August 28, 2015.
