Fox goes behind the scenes of "Hitman: Agent 47" with a new featurette that emphasizes the "iconic" nature of the title character. In addition, the studio has released a new promo spot and poster.

"The bald head, the bar code, Agent 47 is just one of the most iconic pop-culture characters in history," says producer Adrian Askarieh, who may be prone to a little overstatement.

Directed by Aleksander Bach, the film starts fresh following 2007's "Hitman," with Agent 47 targeting a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of his past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.

Opening Aug. 28, “Hitman: Agent 47″ stars Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Ciarán Hinds and Thomas Kretschmann.
