Chloe Moretz is continuing her seemingly unstoppable reign as nerd queen with the news that she’ll follow up career-making roles in Kick-Ass and Let Me In by becoming Emily The Strange.
Dark Horse Entertainment has been working on a movie version of the merchandise-friendly character (Initially created by Rob Reger as a sticker illo in 1991 to promote his clothing line Cosmic Debris, and having since spawned publishing and clothing lines – amongst other merchandise – herself) since 2008, and the project is now firmly set at Universal Pictures. Moretz is the first name attached to the project, which currently lacks both writer and director – but considering the character became so famous based on appearance alone, that doesn’t necessarily seem an insurmountable problem.
