"High Moon," the Harvey Award-winning Western-horror comic by David Gallaher and Steve Ellis will return in October with "definitive editions" published by Papercutz's creator-focused Super Genius imprint. They'll be followed by a third volume completing the story.

Originally serialized from 2007 to 2010 as part of DC Comics' Zuda digital imprint, the werewolf Western follows the adventures of Matthew MacGregor, a former Pinkerton agent turned bounty hunter with his own supernatural secret.

"There are supernatural evils in the world and then there are the great evils that wicked men do," Gallaher, who reteamed with Ellis for "The Only Living Boy," told CBR. "The appeal of a werewolf-western is that is can provide a vivid picture of both. The real fun is deciding which one is the most wicked.”

Papercutz plans to collect the previously published "High Moon" strips in a pair of remastered editions, titled "High Moon: Bullet Holes and Bite Marks," featuring new cover art by Ellis. The first volume will be released in October, with the second due in May 2018. The series will then conclude with a third volume, containing all new material.

The Super Genius editions will retain their widescreen landscape format, but will be larger and come with a special slipcase for vertical storage and display.
