Saturday, aka Day 2, of HeroesCon was much busier for creators, so I didn't always get the opportunity to chat with them that I did on the first day of the Charlotte, North Carolina, convention. In those instances, in place of project updates I provide links to the creators and/or their related works.

I always love running into Evan Dorkin, because he's both incredibly inviting and witty as hell when dealing with the press.
This fall Dark Horse will release The Eltingville Club hardcover, which collects "every Eltingville story from Dork, House of Fun, and The Eltingville Club #1–#2 ... [as well as] the Northwest Comix Collective alt-comics smackdown and an afterword about the 2002 Adult Swim animated pilot."
Phil Noto fans can find him hard at work on Marvel's Black Widow. Having previously chatted with Noto about the series, I know it was a dream assignment for him. If you have any doubt about his unabashed affinity for the character, look no further than the piece he developed on Friday (see below) for the annual art auction.
According to Jim Rugg, "My big project right now is the release of the new edition of Street Angel from AdHouse Books (as well as its serialization by Monkeybrain through comiXology)."
As ROBOT 6 reported earlier this month, the original strips from Bill Watterson's ghost work on Stephan Pastis' Pearls Before Swine were on display at HeroesCon the entire weekend. After going on a small tour, the pieces will eventually be auctioned off, with the proceeds donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
I contacted Joey Weiser before the convention, and he was more than happy to give me the official scoop on what's on the horizon for Mermin:
MERMIN BOOK 3: DEEP DIVE coming in September!
No one knows much about Mer, the underwater kingdom where Mermin the Merman was born, but due to a rising conflict with the people of Atlantis, Mermin is needed back home immediately. Which means that his human friends get to accompany him and see all the aquatic wonders of Mer. But once again, Mermin is tight-lipped about his past - even when it's swimming right in front of him. And there are enemies lurking in the seedier depths of Mer who've got their sights set not only on Mermin, but on Pete and his friends!
The lines were long for Kelly Sue DeConnick, Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarksy whenever I came by to get a photo. This is a blunt way to explain the nontraditional shots I will run of all three.
You may know artist Sandy Jarrell from his recent work on Batman '66, but in October Oni Press will release his collaboration with writer Jeff Parker on the original graphic novel Meteor Men.
Matt Kindt is working on MIND MGMT, Star Wars: Rebel Heist, Rai and Unity.

After years of photographing my friend Chris Schweizer in a traditional manner, I decided to mix it up a bit. The hair should be seen in profile. Look for The Creeps by Schweizer (published by Abrams/Amulet) in 2015.

Ryan Stegman is quite busy these days at Marvel, understandably.
