Next week, the Archie Comics gang will return to television in a new CW teen mystery/drama series titled "Riverdale." Even a newer addition to the Archie mythos, Kevin Keller, will be included in the new series played by Casey Cott.

A new interview with Cott puts highlights Kevin's role on the series, with the actor pinpointing his character as "Riverdale's" voice of truth. "He's kind of one of the only characters that is constantly saying the truth," said Cott. "And most of the times he says things that everyone else is thinking too."

Cott also spoke about Kevin's friendship with Veronica, which has been a major part of the comics since Keller debuted in 2010. "Veronica's this gorgeous girl from New York who goes to the Met Ball and wears these clothing lines that he can't imagine," said Cott. The actor also revealed how Kevin will deal with the show's central murder mystery. "I think he kind of enjoys drama, like, why don't I want to see that unfoil and how Cheryl responds to that and, you know, how Josie and the Pussycats respond to that. When you throw in the fact that there was a murder, all those relationships and dramatic instances are elevated."

Looking past the series premiere, the CW has also released a synopsis for "Riverdale's" second episode. The episode, titled "A Touch of Evil," will reveal new details about the death at the center of the show.
