Fans may know Hellboy by name. However, despite his solo adventures, the World’s Greatest Paranormal Investigator grew up in the care and later employ of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, which has employed all manner of strange and interesting individuals dedicated to investigating and protecting our world from entities and forces that threaten it. With the upcoming Neil Marshall-directed reboot in 2019, we will not only get a different Hellboy played by Stranger Things' David Harbour but also fresh faces working alongside him.

In an exclusive first look photo from EW, we see Harbour’s Hellboy alongside agents Alice Monaghan and Ben Daimio. Monaghan, portrayed by American Honey’s Sasha Lane, is a woman of Irish descent with magical abilities as a result of being kidnapped by fairies as a baby. Daimio, portrayed by Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim, is a Japanese-American military man who can turn into a jaguar-like creature when angry or in extreme pain as a result of a supernatural incident.

Harbour’s adopted father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, played by Ian McShane, often has BPRD agents accompany Hellboy on his assignments, but these situations usually take a turn for the worse and can test the working relationships of those involved. Harbour’s Hellboy has been described as having a strained relationship with Bruttenholm and his struggle with his identity, and the prophecy connecting him to the end of the world may lead to some interesting conflict between Big Red and his co-workers, especially agent Daimio.

"He’s definitely got a point of view about Hellboy”, Kim said at New York Comic Con. “Just because they all exist in this universe doesn’t make them all friends. There are suspicions and rivalries.”

Debuting April 12, 2019, Neil Marshall’s Hellboy stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Milla Jovovich as Nimue, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida and Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio.
