In arguably one of the most awesome ads in recent memory, HBO reunites two vets from "The Wire," references everyone's obsession with "Game of Thrones" and features a nice one-liner about the two shows' shared connection.

The ad promotes HBO NOW -- a streaming standalone service -- and features Sonja Sohn and Jim True-Frost seemingly reprising their roles as "Wire" police detectives Kima Greggs and Roland "Prez" Pryzbylewski, although they never say their names and you sort of have to ignore the fact that Prez became a teacher. But regardless, the intent is clearly there. As such, while on a stakeout, Prez gets distracted trying to catch up on "Game of Thrones" and makes reference to a certain familiar face from the show.
