If Marvel fans are intrigued by the possibility of an Agent Carter television series, they're certainly not alone: Peggy Carter actress Hayley Atwell says she'd be up for the project.

Reports surfaced in mid-September that Marvel is in the very early stages of development on drama based on the "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter" short that appears on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray, and follows the adventures of Captain America's World War II love interest. The project would serve as Marvel's live-action follow-up to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which premiered last week to record ratings only to take a tumble with its second episode.

"The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, 'We want more of Peggy!'" Atwell, who reprises her role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, tells Digital Spy. "I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it's certainly something I would be a part of doing. I'd be interested to show different sides of Peggy."

Praising the character, whom she thinks "could be a great role model and a great member of the Marvel Universe," the actress said she'd jump at the chance to work with Marvel again.

"I love the Marvel lot, they're really great people to work with, so it would be nice to go back and work with them again," Atwell said. "I'd definitely do it."
