As if being the lead in her own fan-favorite franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't enough, "Agent Carter" lead Hayley Atwell would like to break down barriers as another genre icon: the Doctor.

During an impromptu Twitter Q&A session, Atwell answered a question about appearing on "Doctor Who" with the only answer her fans want to hear:

@ohmyjlc I'd like to BE Doctor Who— Hayley Atwell (@HayleyAtwell) August 14, 2015

That's right -- forget just being on "Doctor Who," Atwell wants to be the Doctor. While this is just a tweet responding to a fan question, Atwell fan-casting herself in the perpetually regenerating role is worth thinking about.

"Doctor Who" showrunner Steven Moffat has come under much criticism for continuing to cast white men in the role of the Doctor, most recently when Peter Capaldi picked up his sonic screwdriver. Casting Atwell as the Doctor could change things up and, since she has an incredibly devoted fanbase from her Marvel Studios work, she seems like she could be a serious contender. After all, she's British, she's charismatic, well-dressed, charming and up for all sorts of derring-do. If that doesn't sound like the Doctor, then we don't know what does.
