One of the companies with the biggest showing at New York Toy Fair 2017 was Hasbro. The toymaker's showroom offered a first hand look at upcoming products from its Marvel and Star Wars licenses, with a presentation beforehand to explain the details of the upcoming lines.

With three major feature films hitting this year, Marvel Studios has plenty for fans to look forward to, and Hasbro plans on backing those films up with a variety of action figures, accessories and even role play items. Since "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" debuts first on May 5, let's start there!

The second wave of 6-inch Marvel Legends figures from this line will, as usual, take the two-pronged approach when it comes to offering movie-accurate and comic-based figures. From the film you'll get Gamora, Nebula, Star-Lord with a longer coat and a Rocket and Ravager Groot 2-pack from the movie and then Death's Head II, Adam Warlock (with a swap-out Magus head), Ex Nihlo and all of them will create the Mantis Build-A-Figure. Also, be on the look out for a Chris Pratt-Kurt Russell 2-pack featuring a different take on Star-Lord and his pops Ego!

Other Guardians-related releases this year will include a dancing Baby Groot that plays its own songs, but also reacts to music played around him, a Toys R Us-exclusive Evolution of Groot pack that takes him from potted plant to giant tree, an electronic Star-Lord helmet that also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, a Walmart-exclusive Ravager Groot that stands about 10.5 inches tall and a comic inspired 3/75 inch 5-pack featuring Groot, Rocket, Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax.

Swinging over to the world of Wall Crawlers, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will continue the story of the powered Peter Parker as he continues to deal with his life as a super-hero. The film debuts on July 7 and Hasbro will have plenty of tie-in merchandise to choose from. In the 3.75 inch scale, you'll have your choice of 2-packs including Spidey and Vulture from the film as well as those characters in their comic looks in a separate set. Spider-Man and Shocker will also be for sale in that scale along with an Amazon-exclusive, classic Sinister Six set made to look like the squad's first appearance.

Moving up to the 6-inch scale, the next arachnid-themed wave will feature two versions of Spider-Man from the film, in both his homemade and Tony Stark-donated suits. Vulture will, of course, also make the cut with his massive wings constituting the wave's Build-A-Figure element. Comic favorites like the current Moon Knight, Tombstone, Beetle and a Cosmic Spider-Man with three different heads to represent Captain Universe, Cosmic Spidey and the unmasked version from Spider-Verse will round out the line. There will also be an Iron Man and Spider-Man 2-pack plus other sets like the Walmart-exclusive comic Spider-Man and Vulture and the TRU-exclusive Spider-Man and Mary Jane 2-pack.

Of course, Marvel has more than movies in the works. They've completely taken over Netflix with shows like "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage" and promise to continue that trend into the future. Hasbro showed off the first four 6-inch Marvel Legends versions of those characters -- Daredevil, Elektra, Jessica Jones and Punisher -- to the delight of everyone in attendance.

Everyone at Hasbro was pretty tight-lipped about "Thor: Ragnarok" but you can bet they'll have a lot of product to show off in relation to the November 3-opening film later on in the year. Still, there was talk of a 3.75-inch 2-pack of some kind and a Target-exclusive 6-inch 2-pack. The company did show off a few Thor-related items, though, including the current version of the character in the 6-inch scale, a voice activated Mjolnir that reveals Odin's symbol when you say the word "worthy" near it and a more classic take on Thor in the 12-inch line.

Speaking of the 12-inch line, it will continue on with even more massive characters. In addition to Thor, new additions will include a 14.5-inch-tall Hulk, a Deadpool with at on of accessories including Headpool and a burrito and a Target-exclusive Black Costume Spider-Man.

Finally, for the Marvel side of things, Hasbro revealed a few more store exclusives. Though not shown here, there will be a Cyclops and Dark Phoenix 2-pack in the 6-inch scale at TRU as well as an A-Force 6-pack that includes Sif, Lady Loki, She-Hulk, Monica Rambeau, Elsa Bloodstone and Singularity. Fantastic Four fans will also be glad to hear that the First Family of comics will get one more member thanks to Walgreens when Johnny Storm follows his sister Sue into that store.

Shifting gears from the Marvel Universe to the wonderful world of Star Wars, this year's releases will fully revolve around the 40th anniversary of "A New Hope." In fact, Hasbro plans on looking directly back to the original Early Bird Special release from Kenner with two waves of figures that will offer Black Series quality toys of Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Tusken Raider, Jawa, Death Squad Commander, Obi-Wan and a Stormtrooper. Most of these are existing figures, but they will be presented on new retro cards. A Legacy Pack will also be available that comes with a Darth Vader figure as well as the stand and background to recreate the original look.

In addition to the more traditional figures, Hasbro also went into some depth on the new initiative called Star Wars Centerpieces. These are statue-like constructs that feature one character in a fixed location on an environment fleshed out with lights and places for other figures to stand. The first one will feature Luke in his X-Wing pilot gear while the second gives Darth Vader the spotlight in a scene taken from the early moments of "A New Hope."

Finally, keep an eye out for a variety of Star Wars exclusives. A 40th Anniversary X-Wing Pilot Luke will be at this year's Star Wars Celebration. For something a bit closer to home, Target will have an AT-ATC Driver, Entertainment Earth will have R5-D4 and Walmart will get a 3.75 inch 4-pack featuring prototype Boba Fett, a Tusken Raider, Ponda Baba and a Sandtrooper.
