Hasbro's plans for a cinematic universe have begun to take shape, with the announcement of a writers room with top-name talent.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon, "Saga" and "Y: The Last Man" writer Brian K. Vaughan and "Guardians of the Galaxy" co-writer Nicole Perlman are on board to develop the interconnected movie universe, which will unite such toy properties as G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. and ROM.

They're joined by "Kingkiller Chronicle" screenwriter Lindsey Beer, "Luke Cage" showrunner Cheo Choker, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" collaborators John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, "Black Panther" screenwriter Joe Robert Cole, "The Dark Tower" screenwriter Jeff Pinkner, "Dogfight" screenwriter Nicole Riegel, and "Tomb Raider" reboot co-writer Geneva Robertson.

Akiva Goldsman, who oversees the "Transformers" writers room for Hasbro and Paramount Pictures, will serve in a similar capacity on these new, interconnected films.

THR reports the first meeting of the group will be held Monday on the Paramount lot, with Hasbro artists on hand to draw concepts and characters.
