David Yates directed the final four films in the Harry Potter series, and by the sound of it, he's not done exploring the Wizarding World.

Variety reports Yates has agreed to direct the first installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the new trilogy set in the Harry Potter universe, penned by J.K. Rowling herself.

The film follows famous Magizoologist Newt Scamander's adventures in New York City, set several decades before the events of Harry Potter. Scamander's pioneering work in Magizoology becomes a fundamental part of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As of now, three films in the series are planned.

Warner Bros. hasn't officially confirmed Yates' involvement, but Variety says that "both sides are in negotiations."

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them bows on Nov. 18, 2016.
