Harrison Ford's not exactly unfamiliar with dusting off legendary figures for the big screen. The actor returned to his iconic fedora and whip in 2008's Indiana Jones and the Legend of the Crystal Skull, and he's also rumored to return as Han Solo in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, he'll be doing something similar, but with a new character, in Adam McKay and Will Ferrell's Anchorman: The Legend Continues. As with just about everything related to Anchorman 2, the details of Ford's character are being kept mostly under wraps, but it has been announced Ford will play a legendary newsman along the lines of Tom Brokaw.

Stars of the original 2004 film Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner return for the sequel, joined by Ford, Kristen Wiig and James Marsden. Filming is set to begin this month for a Dec. 20 release.
